Alicia E. Stallings has been chosen along with other twenty-one Americans for the $ 500,000 each «genius grant», from the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation!

Our friend, Director of our poetry program, poet and translator and mother of two wonderful children, Alicia E. Stallings, is one of the twenty-two Americans who have been chosen for the "genius grant", worth 500,000 dollars each, from the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation!
The program began in 1981 and anonymous nominators and selection committees decide who gets the grants, and recipients usually do not know they are even being considered! The grant is made over a five-year period.
