«The House on Paradise Street» is Sofka Zinovieff’s first novel. Set in contemporary Athens, it follows the story of three generations in the Perifanis family and shows how the wounds of the Nazi occupation and the Civil war can still have an effect on people today.

Sofka Zinovieff was born in London and has Russian ancestry. She studied social anthropology at Cambridge and first came to Greece to do research for her PhD thesis. Sofka is the author of «Eurydice Street: A Place in Athens», «Red Princess: A Revolutionary Life,» and her latest book is «The House on Paradise Street.» She lives in Athens with her Greek husband and their two daughters.

 

Wine and conversation follows the event. The reading is open to the public.
