Lecture entitled: “Occupying Greece – The German soldiers’ perspective”

Valentin Schneider was born in 1983 in the Rhineland region of West Germany. His family moved to Normandy in 1995, where he received his PhD in History from the Université de Caen in 2013. Additionally, the University of Nottingham awarded him a PhD in Politics and International Relations in 2016. Among his publications are ”Un million de prisonniers allemands en France 1944-1948” (2011, second edition 2013), ”Une garnison allemande en Normandie” (2014) and ”La collection inédite «Egon Pfende»” (2016). He has curated several historical exhibitions in France and is the director of Schneider Media publishing house. He lives in Athens since 2012.
