Poetry Reading with Alicia E. Stallings & Paula Closson Buck

A.E. Stallings has lived in Athens since 1999. She has published three books of poetry and a verse translation of Lucretius. Most recently she has published a new translation of Hesiod’s Works and Days with Penguin Classics, and has a new collection of poems forthcoming from Farrar, Straus and Giroux.

Stallings will read from new and older work.

Paula Closson Buck is the author of three books of poems, the most recent of which, You Cannot Shoot a Poem, is forthcoming in November 2018. She has spent a great deal of time in Greece and in Cyprus, where she was a Fulbright scholar. She teaches creative writing at Bucknell University in the U.S. and is currently directing Bucknell / Penn State in Athens.

Closson Buck will read from «Litanies Near Water», much of which was composed during a year-long stay on Tinos, and from »You Cannot Shoot a Poem», a section of which was the result of a collaboration with a Greek-Cypriot artist and a Turkish-Cypriot artist.
