The Athens Centre was founded with the idea of promoting the culture and civilization of Greece on an international level.   People of all ages, from all over the world have participated in the programs organized and sponsored by the Centre, and have returned home  with a new understanding of Greece and its people, and with a great love for this country.   Our University programs take students to visit all the major archaeological sites and museums both in Athens and outside the city; the Greek language program introduces students to the language and to the history, customs and way of life of the people;
the cultural programs present many aspects of ancient and contemporary Greece.  For those who come to stay in Greece for longer or short  periods, these are life-changing experiences.

The help the Centre to continue this work, to maintain the high quality of the programs and facilities, and especially to enable students needing financial support to attend the programs, we would appreciate the support of our alumni and friends. Donations large or small would make a difference, enabling us to continue to sponsor cultural events, and to offer scholarships to students who would otherwise not be able to come to Greece and take part in the programs.

Scholarship Fund
You might want to establish a scholarship in your name, or the name of someone you wish to honor.  This scholarship could be for Greek language courses, or the poetry or art workshops, or for one of the university affiliated sessions.   For example, a University of Chicago alumnus or friend might offer a full or partial scholarship for that particular “Spring Quarter in Greece” , or a  person interested in poetry might offer a full or partial scholarship for the Summer Poetry Workshop.

Support for Library or Cultural Programs
Financial support can be given for particular cultural events, or for other purposes; ie,  for extending the library collection of books related to ancient, Byzantine and modern Greek Studies.

Donations to the Athens Centre can be made in the form of cash, checks, or bank transfers (account details are given upon request). When the donation is made, the donator would designate what the gift would be used for.

You also have the option of donating through the following paypal account:
